Droppings, urine, insulation
Cleanup after the animals leave, when the attic still smells like they live there.
Catching the animal does not reset the insulation. Droppings, urine, nesting, and torn vapor barrier stay until someone removes them. This page is the leftover mess, not the trap.
When to call
- You can smell the attic from the hall
- Insulation is matted, stained, or nested
- Guano under a ridge or soffit
- You already had animals removed and the odor stayed
- You are selling and a buyer saw the attic
Local wrinkle
Older Chattanooga attics are hot, low, and full of blown-in that hides droppings. Signal Mountain and Lookout-side roofs can be steep to work. Do not dry-sweep guano. You do not want that dust in the house air. We are not a mold-remediation lab and we will not print a fake "certified sanitizing" badge. We remove contaminated material, treat what stays, and tell you if insulation replacement is the real cost.
What we do
- Confirm animals are actually gone or contained
- Remove droppings and ruined insulation in the work area
- Treat remaining surfaces as the job requires
- Bag and haul what came out
- Point to exclusion if the hole is still open
Cleanup without exclusion is how the next animal finds a furnished den.
Price drivers
Square footage, how far droppings spread, insulation type, attic access, and whether a colony or a single squirrel made the mess. A handful of squirrel nests is not a bat roost with staining down the rafters.

Quick answers
Can I just fog it? Fog does not pick up feces. It can also push animals or dust around.
Is this a health guarantee? No. If someone in the house is ill, talk to a doctor. We clean the attic. We do not diagnose histoplasmosis from a photo.
